The Atlanta Botanical Gardens are located midtown and offers 30 acres / 12 hectares of parkland, of which 15 are cultivated gardens and the remaining half is woodland. Lush plants and stunning flowers can be seen both in the outdoor gardens and the glass-covered enclosures. The park also regularly hosts many private and public events.

Contrary to its name, Stone Mountain Park in Atlanta isn't home to any mountains, but rather to a huge chunk of granite that geologists would refer to as an exfoliated dome. For the kids at Atlanta's Stone Mountain Park there is a well-furnished playground with slides, tunnels and climbing structures.
